Motives and Murders: Cracking the Case

When Carla Larson leaves work to grab lunch, she never returns. The all-American wife and mother is discovered naked and strangled to death in a nearby swamp. The investigation stalls…until a random love triangle provides a clue to finding her killer.

I will be featured on this program because of a two-part series I wrote and published on September 5 & September 8, 2010:

When karma strikes twice

Slowly, the wiles of justice churn

The program will appear on the Investigation Discovery channel on Saturday night, December 8, at 9:00 PM EST. It will be repeated at midnight, at 4:00 AM, and Sunday afternoon at 5:00 PM. You can find out if your TV Service Provider carries the channel by clicking HERE and typing in your information.

Newly elected State Attorney Jeff Ashton was also interviewed, along with Carla’s husband, Jim Larson. The interview took place in June of this year.

I don’t know how much I’ll figure into the program, but I do know about cutting room floors. In any event, it should be a very good show because I remember the crime so well. Please take a little time to read my two posts to familiarize yourself with the case.

Thank you,

Dave

I'll be looking forward to watching that, Dave. Thank you for mentioning it.

Would you be surprised if I told you that is one of my favorite channels? I have a link, too, where you can watch it online--if anyone is interested.

My heart aches for Jim Larson. It just seems to me that he has been through more--much more--than his share.

I HAD to mention it, nan11. No way I would not publicize it! No, I'm not at all surprised it's one of your favorite channels. If you can link it here, please do. You may have to wait until after it airs. I couldn't even find a promo spot for it.

Larson went thru a lot, and the main gist of my articles had to do with karma and how bad karma was going to get Casey. What did he do to deserve it?

In the end, bad karma did not get Casey, so the karma folks just changed the date after she was found not guilty. It leaves the karma door open for the rest of her life. Still, I come back to the whole thing about karma. What did Jim do to deserve what he got?

Dave, I have to go back and read the links you provided -- did check for the station in my area and have it. I look forward to watching the program.

Thank you, Xena. The two articles I wrote include information not on the show, but it sets it all up.

I know where I'll be Saturday night! The producer is also going to send me a DVD of the program, so I'll have my own, permanent copy.

When I lived in Wisconsin, my absolute most famous BBQ place was called " Famous Daves". Wouldn't you know that 8 years later my very good friend is now Famous Dave!

What a notch to have under your belt. Congratulations my friend.

My belt is getting tighter, too, Porky3100. What's up with that? I think it's funny. Famous Dave made a BBQ sauce and I made a marinade. I don't think this will make me famous, but it won't hurt. Thanks, my friend!

Been wondering when. Congratulations Dave!!

Off topic. I can't believe that new video with Zimmerman's nose busted is really real??? face on CNN page.

[Thanks, New Puppy. I guess we'll have to wait and see. I was wearing my black hat so light wouldn't reflect off my head.

I saw the photo. He got popped, alright, but I still think it could have been from the recoil of the gun.]

Congrats, Dave! I'm going back to read your links so I will be ready.

It's already set on my DVR in case I fall asleep early!

[Thank you, ritanita. The articles are kinda long, but they will help you understand what the show will be about.

I'll be glued to my TV Saturday night!]

Apology, should have commented about video on last post

Your posts referred to are better reading today than earlier. That's what is good about an old book
by famous authors, just gets better and better. I am technically ignorant, but I sure hope I can find my way to watch this interview.

[No need to apologize. All topics can be discussed on any post.

I can't really critique my own work, so I don't know anything about being a better read today, but I will be more than happy to help you find the program in your neighborhood. Hopefully, you will have it listed.]

Sweet Dave dont think it will air in the UK..If you get the dvd cant you load it to your youtube channel?

[I might be able to do that, ecossie, but it IS copyrighted material. That would be a problem without consent. I do believe the segment might air on the Investigation Discovery site later on. I will check it out and let you know. Darn, I would like you to see it.]

Ecossie: Let me know if this works for you. I believe this is the American Investigation Discovery Channel. I get it on my cable package, but (due to government requirements for Canadian content) the coverage I receive is sometimes different. I think this one is the real deal, though.

It opens and plays well for me. There is no charge.

That would be very nice, but if not possible, I hope there will be a way later, because I really don't want to not see it, ever!

I just set my remote DVR to record it. Yay Bright house
