Short interview with Dr. G: Chief Medical Examiner
Tuesday, March 22, 2011 at 12:25PM
Orlando Magazine published a brief interview with Dr. Jan Garavaglia by the editor-in-chief, Mike Boslet. I think it’s definitely worth a read. She will be a crucial expert witness for the State in the upcoming Casey Marie Anthony trial.

Very good article by Mike Boslet. I like Dr. G. She is very blunt and to the point. I don't think she is someone that will be easily shaken by the Casey Anthony defense team. I look forward to seeing her on the witness stand during the trial. I give her a lot of credit for being able to do the job she does.
Dave, thanks for sharing this article with us.
What an eye opener, to the point, informative. A job few people would want yet Dr G's have a most important role in life's death. When she does her work I wonder if she is in a room all alone with her guests or if there are assistants right along side. Thank you Dave for putting this up on your blog, we are better informed when it comes from the party actually doing the work, such as this. I would like to read more about her reference to cocaine, in sll the ways it can affect users of it.
No glitz, no glamour...Straight and to the point...No doubt about it, Dr. G does a great job which she can be proud of...Don't think she will mince words when questioned...Think the defense will have a hard time rattling her...
Thankyou Dave interesting interveiw........................
Hi Dave - Thanks for yet another reminder that there are soooo many professional people who are on the justice side (Caylee Marie's side) of this case. There is no doubt that each professional who will testify during the trial for the prosectution has crossed every T and dotted every I in investigating the death of Caylee. This will carry a lot of weight for the jurors. Dr. G knows what she is doing and her life's work has prepared her well for this case.
Dr. G. "knows her stuff". and I can't imagine her allowing anyone to push her around, or doubt what she is saying. She's "tough, yet feminine" and very, very bright. I admire her greatly.
Dr. G has her own tv show called "Dr. G Medical Examiner". At the moment, I can't remember the channel, but it is a very interesting show. She is very tenacious...she never gives up. She doesn't stop until she knows the exact cause of death. She will be an excellent witness for the state.
Hi velee - She's on the Discovery Health channel on cable.
Didn't know she'd been over at Mass. Gen., small world. I get what she was talking about- the dead don't complain! It's a different type of burden, helping to bring justice about, or explaining to family members why, exactly, their person is gone now. Cocaine- all kinds of body parts can be effected by that cr*p, any part of the vascular system. Not just hole in sinuses, or simple cardiac events. What she says about the other specialties looking down their noses at MEs, so true. Not seen as as noble- no God Factor there, why do it? Also, are you a perv? would be an unspoken thought. I imagine female MEs get less of that. Justice Bringer, Truth Seeker, good ways to view that specialty.
Sounded like the opening monologue from 6 Feet Under! Very witty but......Prunning shears? Favorite tool for cutting ribs! YIKES - she's scarry. kidding of course.....yeah it's going to be FUN watching her on cross with the defense. I wonder who they will have do it - probably Mason since he's the "experienced" one. But I don't think it will matter who does it, either way she's going to eat them alive.
Thank you for this great series!
